Activation Timescales

There are several different timescales for activation of a new broadband service.

For a BT-based ADSL service:

  • 5 working days - This can happen on the same day as the phone activation as long as a SIM (simultaneous) order has been placed.

For a LLU-based ADSL service for broadband only:

  • 5 working days

For a LLU-based service for broadband and phone:

  • 7-10 working days

For a FTTC services:

  • 7-10 working days

These timescales are for new activations only. Migrations always take a minimum of 10 working days due to changes in the migration rules from June 2015.

Openreach will aim to complete the required work on the confirmed date in your order acceptance email. If there are any delays to this, we will let you know as soon as possible.
